Moto Guzzi 850-T description

Built in August 1974 as a 1975 model. 4 stroke twin 844cc with 2 Dell'Orto VHB carbs producing 68hp/54 ft lb torque. Electric start, shaft drive, 5 speed gearbox, front disc/rear drum brakes. First year for the Tonti frame (named after Moto Guzzi's chief engineer, Lino Tonti and this is where the T in the 850 "T" came from). Matching frame and engine numbers and a clear title.

I purchased the bike with the intent to rebuild and sell it, which is what I'm doing. I kept the non stock, somewhat cruiser look, while rebuilding the mechanicals/electrics. Along with the bike, comes the owners manual, shop manual, parts catalog and other literature such as club magazines, etc and the original tool kit, as pictured.
The gas tank, seat, seat mounting hardware/bracketry, fenders, side covers, handlebar, headlight, tail light, valve covers and exhaust pipes are non standard 850-T.

Parts replaced with new:

- All switch gear (low/high beam, horn, coils on/off, start, blinkers)
- Battery
- Spark plug wires
- Spark plugs
- Spark plug caps
- Left carb choke assembly
- Engine oil pan gasket
- Front upper and lower brake lines
- Front brake caliper and pads
- Fuel lines from tank to carbs and carb to carb
- Throttle cables (left and right)
- Throttle assembly
- Handle bar grips
- Molex connectors

Work done:

- Removed surface oxidation, cleaned and polished much of the bike's areas
- Removed many parts, cleaned, verified operation, lubricated and reinstalled
- Repainted frame, handlebar and certain linkage parts
- Repainted numerous other parts (see pix)
- Rewired electrics
- Removed all inline splices
- Set point gaps and verified point timing
- Adjusted rear brakes
- 130psi compression from both cylinders
- Rebuilt carbs (o-rings/gaskets) and thoroughly cleaned all jets, orifices, ports, etc, set float height, inspected all internal parts, reinstalled, adjusted and sync'd
- Compounded and polished gas tank and fenders
- Adjusted clutch cable and re-routed for easier pull (cable is OEM but looks long due to non OEM handle bars)
- Overhauled speedo cable

Issues:
- Oil leak that comes out the vent hole in the bottom of the bell housing, you'll get a few drops after a run. Would recommend changing the seal when performing an engine overall.
- Looks like gas was spilled on the right front of the gas tank and started to liquify the paint (see pix)
- General paint chips here and there
- Other than that, there are no known issues.

Bike starts right up, runs/shifts well, plenty of torque & has a great sound. Local pickup or buyer pays shipping.
