Kawasaki VOYAGER 1300 description

I am selling my 1985 Voyager 1300.  I purchased it new in 1987 from a local dealer. She came complete with matching helmets and the ground control headsets, which still work for intercom and listening to the radio and cds. I did not opt for the CB radio option. The trip computer has not worked in years.  When the battery starts to go low, the computer actually comes on.  It probably needs some kind of voltage regulator to make it work.  Other than a couple of years that my brother owned it, it has been in my possession. I have done a few little modifications as in some extra lights so as to be seen better.  I would change these to LED if I were keeping her.  I have moved the battery from under the seat to the left saddlebag.  This makes it easier to work on and jump if it hasn't been run for a while.  It also lets you choose a different battery.  The battery that actually fits under the seat is an odd size and very expensive.  I have found a yard tractor battery to work very well.  It needs a battery tender to keep everything running and ready to start as there are electronics that are running all the time. I replaced the original radio with a marine type for boats and it also has a cd player that works thru the dash speakers and the headsets. I have a full set of manuals as well that go with her.  The motorcycle runs and I just replaced 2 fuel lines that were cracking at the tank. She is sold as-is, no warranty.  USA buyers only.  Buyer is responsible for hiring a shipper or you can pick up at my location in Zion, Illinois. The seat and backrest need to be re-covered.  Please contact me with any questions before you buy.

Recall for 2009-2010 Kawasaki KLX250

Tue, 05 Jul 2011

Kawasaki is recalling some 2009-2010 KLX250 models due to a risk of leaky fuel tanks. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the fuel tank on affected motorcycles may not be in contact with the frame-mounted rubber dampers designed to support the front of the tank, and the tank side mounting tabs may have excessive clearance from from the frame. As a result, spot-welded sections along the side tabs may be under excessive stress, potentially resulting in cracking and a fuel leak.
