KTM Superduke description

I am offering for sale my unmolested, pristine 2008 KTM SuperDuke 990 in white. I am the 2nd owner of the bike. I purchased this bike from a dealer in PA in 2012 when it had 842 miles. The man who owned it before me "just didn't ride it enough" and wanted to sell it. He bought it as a leftover in 2010. After obtaining the bike, I changed all fluids (Motorex oil and filters, brake fluid front and rear and coolant) and have regularly changed fluids since (always using Motorex). Also a new battery was installed. Bike has been babied its entire life, has never been raced, tracked or laid down. Last winter's maintenance included an air filter change.

I have had one issue with the bike, a leaky lower radiator hose which was changed last winter. New tires were put on 2 winters ago (Pilot Road 3's), balanced and still have plenty of tread life. O2 sensors, SAS and all other stock engine management is intact and untampered with on this bike. It has a tamer throttle tube installed to help with rideability in low speed/low gear situations as this bike is famous for being a bit "twitchy" in this situation.

Currently the bike has 3731 miles. This bike has been garage kept its whole life and since I have owned it always parked on its stands. This bike is pretty much a garage queen. There is one very small nick in the paint on the top of the tank (pictured).

I am offering it for sale to fund my addiction for off-road riding and am looking to purchase a new KTM 500 EXC and for no other reason. Therefore, low-ballers will be turned away. I'd rather keep it than take a loss. I arrived at my price by looking at other 990 SuperDukes with similar condition and mileage (which there are VERY FEW). Quite honestly, I am looking for a buyer who is as enthusiastic about this bike as I am.

All stock parts have been kept and will be provided to the seller along with both keys, the attache that contains the user manual and paperwork, all of the paperwork I have for the bike and a clean title.

Pitbull stands are included
Spare oil filter and 4L of Motorex included
All stock parts that have been removed included

The North East,Prescott and fast laps with Chris Walker at Mallory

Thu, 26 Apr 2012

A big thanks to all at Newcastle Motorcycles for lending me a Honda CB1000F on Saturday to do nothing other than join mates for a blast round some fantastic roads in the North East. The buddies in question were Alan Smith (Bradley’s dad) and two stroke addict and race fan Chris Berriman. We headed east over the moors from the ‘Toon’ heading towards Barnard Castle then back through Consett before finishing up at the picturesque Tynemouth.

According to reports out of India, KTM Chief Executive Officer Stefan Pierer has announced the Austrian manufacturer will produce 200cc and 350cc versions of its youth-oriented 125 Duke. Unfortunately for us in North America, the two new Dukes will appear destined for emerging markets such as India, Brazil, Thailand and Malaysia.
