This auction is for a used KTM 50 SX LC. This is a 50cc liquid cooled 2-stroke youth motocross / off road bike. It is sized for kids in the 7-8 range (though obviously this depends on size and skill). It has an automatic (clutchless) transmission like a scooter, and is simply twist and go. Good power and light weight. Front and rear disc brakes.
The bike is used but in very good mechanical condition. I purchased it used from a dealer in the greater Boston area last year for my son (I'll include paperwork with the bike). The dealer did a complete overhaul including: new top end, new rear tire, new chain, new fuel petcock, clutch adjustment, new plastic. The bike is in great shape and is ready to ride. Kept indoors. Sadly my son rode it only once. Included is a complete owner's manual, engine manual, and my paperwork documenting my purchase from the dealer on 12/22/15. If you use the Buy it now option, I'll include free a nearly complete set of youth motocross gear (Fox boots - size youth 4 / EU 36, Fox elbow pads, Fox goggles, Fox chest protector, Fox pants, Fox gloves and an Alipnestars duffle bag) all purchased new and in pristine condition - again used only once :( If you don't use buy it now, the winning bidder will have the option to purchase this gear for $125. Bajaj Auto Owns 25% of KTM
Mon, 15 Dec 2008In India, Bajaj Auto is a major player in two and three-wheeled vehicles. They originally purchased a 14.5 percent stake in KTM last year, which was increased to 20.9 percent earlier this year and has now officially reached 25 percent. The companies have been working together to develop high-efficiency bikes, sourcing for production and the assembling of KTM bikes in India for export to Europe under KTM branding.
AMA Superbike: 2012 Daytona Results
Tue, 20 Mar 2012Josh Hayes and Blake Young picked things up where they left off by trading wins at the 2012 season-opening AMA Superbike round at Daytona International Speedway. Reigning champion Hayes of Monster Energy Graves Yamaha took the first race handily, leading almost right from the start of the 15-lap race for the win. Yoshimura Suzuki’s Young, who finished second to Hayes in the 2011 AMA Superbike Championship, responded by taking the second race, but only by a slim 0.002-second margin.
KTM Developing 500cc and 800cc Twins
Wed, 05 Feb 2014After setting a new company record for motorcycle sales on the back of small displacement models like the Duke line (like the 390 Duke pictured above), KTM is turning its attention to mid-sized models. Speaking with Overdrive.in at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo, KTM Chief Executive Officer Stefan Pierer says the company has 500cc and 800cc parallel Twin engines in development, with new models expected to enter production within three years. The new mid-sized models will be produced in India for the Indian market to avoid the country’s stringent import duties.
