KTM Adventure description

I am going to leave the US for a couple of years and I will not be able to bring the bike with me. I am forced to sell my beloved bike:

KTM 990 Adventure DAKAR 2011
37k miles on the clock. The bike is in Farmington, CT.

Done my own maintenance as I love to work on this bike. I have kept a detailed log on maintenance and replacement of parts.

ROX Risers
Side stand Relocator (BDCW)
FMF Exhausts (nice sound). OEM's are yours too with the purchase of the bike.
BMC reusable air filter.
Cycra Hand guards.
16-45 sprocket ratio: I think this is the best ratio for this bike, it so much fun to ride and the front wheel goes up with no effort. I still have the original 17 sprocket, it's yours too with thousands of miles left.

You get the USB cable for the TUNE ECU. I had to adjust the TPS once and bought it. Map is still OEM and I think there is no need to change it.
The bike needs nothing. It even has a fresh oil change (less than 200 miles old) and it does not consumes a drop of oil from oil change to oil change. The next job this bike needs is due by the 40k miles: valves check, fluids flush, new spark plugs (I already have them so don't buy them). The Dealer checked the valves once and I have checked at 18k and 30k miles and they have never been out of spec.

Rear tire is Heidenau and it has about 4k miles left (I get 10k miles out of it) the front has about 3-4k miles left too.

I take this bike off road from time to time and I have dropped it a couple of times during this years so it has a couple of scratches here and there, I haven't . So if you want a spotless, shining bike, then you will need to polish and retouch a couple of things here and there.

This bike is ready to race and I give my word that it presents no mechanical issues at all

I am dropping the price to 8750$ because I am leaving in a few days an it has to go!!!

Splashing through the summer on my RC8R

Wed, 18 Jul 2012

For sure the wet summer has curtailed my intentions of using my RC8R at every opportunity. That said I've had a fair amount mixed weather track time around the UK which has helped me bond with the big KTM. I've found riding at tighter twistier tracks like Oulton and Knockhill are more satisfying as the low down grunt and quick handling means you can stay with pretty much anything.

Thumbs up for a chilly N.E.C.

Wed, 08 Dec 2010

Apart from the freaky weather I have to say last week’s Carole Nash Motorcycle Live N.E.C. show was the best Birmingham event I've attended in the ten years. I really appreciate the fact that manufacturers chose to ignore the recession giving us great stands to cater for every enthusiast young and old.  Aprilia made a welcome return and I don’t know anyone that didn’t enjoy admiring the WSB RSV4, surely the the most gorgeous bike on the planet? The Honda stand rarely disappoints and this year was no exception with banking bikes providing fun for all the family.
