Indian Four Cylinder 438 description

1938 Indian Four Cylinder 438 There are a few minor nicks and scratches as you would expect, but nothing significant. While I cannot be certain, it appears to have original sheet metal. The tank was cleaned and sealed. The paint looks to be a color coat/clear coat. One flaw I want to point out, and tried to show in photos, is the detail around the right side front fender rivets was lost when the body and paint work were done. Otherwise, everything looks great. The only obvious incorrect component is the late model oil pressure gauge. Originals show up on ebay or at the swap meets, but they are getting to be a $1000-$1500 item. The one on the bike works well and the motor has strong oil pressure. For more information and to answer your questions please contact me at: SteveHallwwt@comcast.net Asking Price: 33K

Polaris Reports Q1 2012 Results

Wed, 18 Apr 2012

Polaris Industries reported a 44% increase in on-road vehicle sales revenue and a 40% increase in North American Victory Motorcycle unit sales over the first quarter of 2012. According to Polaris’ first quarter report, its on-road vehicle division (which consists of the Victory and Indian motorcycle brands as well as electric vehicle brands GEM and Goupil) generated $64.7 million in sales revenue, compared to $44.9 million reported in the same quarter of 2011. Of course, the Polaris didn’t yet own Indian, GEM or Goupil during that quarter last year, so the figures are a bit misleading.

Founded in 1919, many famous Italian racers got their starts on Garelli motorcycles.

Indian FTR Carbon

Sun, 17 May 2020

Indian FTR Carbon differs from the base model in the wide use of carbon fiber parts: the false tank and air filter housing, headlight housing, decorative passenger seat cover and front fender are made of carbon fiber. The motorcycle also has an Akrapović exhaust system made of titanium alloy. Otherwise, the Indian FTR Carbon is completely identical to the S-version of the FTR 1200.
