Honda SL100 Motosport K2 description

When I bought this bike I remember it having about 500 miles on it so the present mileage of 5443 means I have put about 5000 miles on.  So I have averaged about 120 miles per year. This means the bike is not worn out. The engine puts out 11.5 horse power @11,000 rpm.  When I calculated the miles per gal. the number came up to 175 or 125 either way it goes a long way on the 1.8 gallon tank. The bike weighs about 200 lbs and it has been many years since my weight has not been over the maximum weight that it should carry. Maintenance on this motorcycle is not too hard. Keep the oil changed and the battery filled and charged.  Watch the tire pressures and keep the bolts tight is about all there is to it.  Every so often check the spokes for correct tightness and the wheels for true running.  There is a small tool kit on the left side. This model is somewhat popular with the restoration group and I believe this bike would be a good candidate for that type of work.

2010-2011 Honda Shadow VT750 Recall

Mon, 13 Jun 2011

Honda has initiated a recall campaign for certain 2010-2011 Shadow series cruisers due to a problem with their bank angle sensors. According to documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the bank angle sensors may incorrectly read that the motorcycle is leaning. The bank sensor uses a weighted pendulum that swings into a motorcycle’s lean.

The bike whisperer...

Fri, 10 Feb 2012

We've all been there. The frustration caused when your pride and joy isn't working can cause beautiful relationships to instantly turn frosty. I once spent half an hour in the rain trying to bump start my bike once, before actually checking the kill switch.
