Honda CBX description

FOR SALE: 1979 RED Honda CBX. In excellent condition. I bought this bike in June of 1996 with 9579 mile on it. In the Spring of this year I purchased the new Honda 2013 CB1100, and sold my 1980 Honda CBX to make room for the new bike. As I like this new bike so much, my plan for next Spring is to buy the 2014 CB1100 in black, hence my reason for selling the 1979 CBX.

Upgrades on the CBX include: Stainless steel brake lines; Pingle Petcock: Corbin Seat: Dynatec coils and ignition: Ohlins Piggyback shocks put on a couple of months ago.: Honda line engine crash bars: A rare rear carrier  made specifically for the early CBXs.

In 2011 new valves and valve guide seals plus front fork seals were put in the bike by (in my humble opinion) the very best CBX mechanic in the USA, Preston Marks in Florida. Along with this work carburetors were cleaned and the ignition checked. Receipts from this work will be included with the bike.

Included with the sale of the bike are the following: The original tool kit and owners Manual, plus workshop manual and a copy of the parts book.

At 25609 miles a new Metzeler  front tire and Avon rear tire were put on the bike. In June 2011 a new battery was installed.

The bike starts, idles and runs very well.

There is no rust in the tank; there are no dents or scrapes on the tank but there are some paint blemishes on the tank. Please see the pictures.

This bike is located in the Asheville WNC area.

VTR-Powered Honda Lawnmower Sets Guinness World Record + Video

Wed, 02 Apr 2014

A lawnmower powered by the engine from a Honda VTR1000F Superhawk has set a new Guinness record for the world’s fastest mower. Honda UK revealed its 996cc V-Twin-powered Mean Mower last summer, claiming it had been tested at a speed of 100 mph but could reach a theoretical top speed of 133 mph. Those claims were put to the test in March at the IDIADA Proving Ground in Tarragona, Spain, with an official Guinness World Records adjudicator on hand to observe.

Crossover Honda CRF450R again upgraded

Wed, 24 May 2017

The first update is related to the kickstarter, or rather, its absence: now the “single-barrel” in the basic version is started by an electric starter with a very light Li-ion battery. The second difference of the newly rejuvenated CRF450R is the suspension with changed settings - obviously, it steers more fun and perky than before.

Help settle an argument

Wed, 08 Feb 2012

I'm happy to admit that I'm a little bit different; I believe that brown is an underused colour in motorcycling and we need to move on from custom café racers and introduce a dustbin fairing craze - you know I'm right. So, as Ben Cope - known around the Visordown office for being rather stubborn - and I were looking over various scooters on the 'net we uncovered the above machine, Honda's Big Ruckus 250. Instantly I thought that the Big Ruckus was absolutely cool, whereas Ben likened it to a 'mobility scooter'.
