Motorcycle Thefts Down 11.2% in 2010

Motorcycle thefts in the U.S. are down for the fourth consecutive year in 2010,  according to a report from the National Insurance Crime Bureau. There were 49,791 reported motorcycle thefts in 2010, an 11.2% drop from the 56,093 thefts reported in 2009.

Entitled,  Harley-Davidson: A History of the World’s Most Famous Motorcycle, the book ties together the mechanical evolution of the Harley engines, the social history of Harley and the beautiful visuals associated with Harleys in design, advertising, artful photography and collectibles. IT'S 35 YEARS since Evel Knievel attempted to jump 13 London buses at Wembley Stadium. Riding a heavy, slow Harley-Davidson XR750, the American daredevil had serious reservations about the jump, admitting the take-off ramp was too short, therefore limiting the bike's speed. But even though the plucky American knew his chances of pulling off the stunt were slim, he was reluctant to disappoint the 80,000-strong Wembley crowd.
