Harley-Davidson Softail description

THE LEGENDY SPRINGER GETS A MAJOR MAKEOVER IN MODEL YEAR 2000
This Springer model compared to others before it and after is quite unique so please read on... Don't mistake this bike model for the previous FLSTS models...they look the same but that's where the similarity ends....
The 2000 model year Soft Tail Springers were the first to have the "B" or balanced Twin CAM 88 motors. The complete frame was strengthened to utilize the new motor and transmission.
Harley Davidson also changed to the new positive shift transmissions that eliminated the slop between gears in the shifter design.
This was the last year of the three buckle Fringed bags and  last of fringed bags altogether.

THE BIKE

Having just turned over 10000 miles, this bike is literally like new and isn't even totally broken in yet. That means not only is the engine and internals fresh, but things like wheel bearings, brake rotors, all the bushings that articulate the front suspension, handlebar controls and switches tight unworn and crisp feeling.

The suede green with burgandy pinstriping was a special color order and I believe it was also unique to that model year.
I have enjoyed owning many Harley's over the years but the unique thing I'll always remember about owning this is: when riding it I'm not in a hurry to go anywhere. You get the sense to just sit back and enjoy the ride taking in the wonderful music that the pipes produce while sitting low in that big comfortable fringed saddle behind the huge turbulence free windshield.
The animated springs above the top clamp plate complete the visceral experience of riding and the perfect pullback position of the bars keeps you from straining for a reach and putting you in complete effortless control.
The carbureted twin CAM motor gives you a feedback no fuel injection motors can and puts you in control of jetting to perfection should you upgrade pipes.

When I purchased it, the bike came with fishtail Vance and Hines mufflers with a deep booming mellow tone.  The stock fishtails come with should you choose stealth...
As stated the front tire is new and the rear tire as well as the oil and fluid change has about 1500 miles on it. you can fly in and ride this home to anywhere...

As I have owned several in the past, this is hands down the nicest. The leather appears to have never seen rain, or any abuse. Every once in awhile I see a bike come through that the owner has loved and cared for...THIS IS ONE OF THOSE BIKES...for a few hundred dollars more this bike is worth it...AREN'T YOU WORTH IT...?
Don't miss your opportunity to pick up this absolutely perfectly maintained incredible low mileage machine.
There's about 1500 miles on the rear tire and the front is new.
THIS BIKE IS T EVEN BROKE IN YET!!!
There are other Springers for sale out there but I guarranty NONE AS NICE AS THIS!!!
UNFORTUNATELY I DON'T RUN A SHIPPING BUSINESS, HOWEVER I HAVE SHIPPED BIKES ALL OVER THE WORLD, MOST OF MY LIFE AND I UNDERSTAND THE INTRICACIES OF SUCH A SERVICE. IF YOU WOULD LIKE THIS BIKE SHIPPED I COULD MAKE ALL THE ARRANGEMENTS FOR A FEE...

Tue, 04 Aug 2009

Ever gone to take your Harley for a spin and thought "You know, I wish this thing had a couple more seats, infact no, I wish it had 10". Well, you might not have done that, I know I haven't, but one man who did was Steve Hopkins who built this bike using 7 Harley-Davidson engines some which date back over 100 years. To prove it rides, Hopkins and nine passengers hopped on the bike on Saturday to start the 900 mile ride from Wisconsin to Sturgis.

Three-Year-Old Motorcycle Prodigy?

Tue, 18 Aug 2009

Even though Tiger woods started paying golf at age two, this story of a three-year-old boy from New Delhi, India is probably just as impressive, maybe more.  Azeem Khan, photographed on the Royal Enfield Bullet above, has been granted a special license by judges in India allowing him to ride his motorcycle on side roads but is not allowed out on the main roads by himself. Khan’s father had to customize the bike so that the young boy could reach the controls and prove that he could handle the motorcycle on his own. I used to sit him on my bike and he would always grab at the controls.
