Harley-Davidson Other description

For Sale, 1952 Harley Davidson sleeper. Looks like just an old flathead, but has a Freshly rebuilt stroked 45" flathead motor, transmission resealed and gone through. Runs and rides, kick starts on the first few tries. It has less than 100 miles on new motor, with, new Truett and Osborne stroker flywheels and 30 over pistons, new rings, new valves, high lift cams, new bearings, original numbers matching cases, original aluminum heads. Original Harley rigid frame. Suicide foot clutch. Original Harley Gas and Oil Tanks. Hand shift on the tank. rebuilt drum brakes front and rear, stops nice. Original Harley Springer front end. Pogo seat. Linkert Carberator. 12 volt Generator. 12 volt Battery inside stock battery box. Original 16" rear star hub wheel, and 18" front star hub wheel, both with old chrome. chrome rear stand, chrome handlebars, tombstone tail light.

It is titled 1952 Harley Davidson Motorcycle in my name, and registered until April 2014.

I left everything besides the motor unrestored, and even the motor was left alone on the outside. Everything is either Black or chrome. Yes it has dents and scratches, and it is dirty and oily, and leaks. I basically only made it run better and stop better, but left the rest alone. If you want a show bike, this will take some work.
But if you want something fun to ride around, and look and feel like an old motorcycle you can't beat it.

As far as I know, this is all old Harley, I am sure some of it is from different years. And I am sure someone will point out something not Harley or reproduction or not correct for this model, etc. . Some of it I honestly couldn't tell you. But this is a neat old motorcycle, and a blast to ride. Really don't want to sell it, but I need the money for another project. So please no trades.

There are many of these bikes out there for a lot more money, There is no funny business with this one.
I priced it to sell, so I can use the money for my other project. It is for sale locally, so it may be sold before auction ends if no longer available.

Motorcycle is sold as is, no warranty or guarantee. Motorcycle is sold where is, meaning buyer is responsible for any shipping or delivery fees, charges, etc.
You can pick it up once you have purchased it.

Knucklehead, Panhead, Shovelhead, custom, hot rod, flat head, WLA, WL, chopper, bobber,
Kmart blue light special, old school, trouble head, Sonny and Slim, Saints forever forever Saints.
Just like the 50's Fonzie, 1940's, WW2, roadster, made in America, Taiwan Ted, Red Fred, Triumph, BSA,
Norton, Napa Wizard, Born loser, cafe racer, lane splitter, bar hopper.

Vespa goes back to the future

Thu, 22 Nov 2012

IT'S been a while coming, but the gorgeous Vespa 946 - EICMA 2012's Best of Show - has finally introduced something to the two-wheeled world that our four-wheeled counterparts have had for a while.  I call this 'reverse retro-futurism' - the art of borrowing lines from models past and imbuing them with a sleek sense of future direction (as opposed to retro-futurism, the pre-1960s design trend of depicting the technology of the future. The term 'decopunk' may come close, but feel free to tell me if there's a more exact term.) It's what the New Mini and the New Beetle (both 1997 and 2012 versions) have done so well, and so successfully: building an all-new model as a tribute to a classic, something that's modern yet already timeless, with a widely-appreciated, inclusive aesthetic (and here we eliminate the Plymouth PT Cruiser from the conversation). The biking world is great at retro, indeed thrives on it, but not so good at adding in a taste of the 21st century.
