Can-Am Spyder RT Limited SE-6 tech info
Can-Am Spyder RT Limited SE-6 description
Newest Can Am engine design and 6-speed manu-matic transmission. Loaded model and then upgraded with carefully chosen parts. The changes are are all functional so the bike looks almost stock but is more comfortable and handles better.
This is a one-owner bike that we inherited from my best friend who died of cancer last year. Title will transfer directly from his estate to the buyer (as a second owner). We have the title and other paperwork on hand and there is no lien. The Can Am Spyder RT was developed — by BRP — with the help of my friend Fred Rau, a motorcycle journalist with extensive riding and road test experience. The owner and I tweaked the components of this example, piece by piece, to make it handle as well as possible while still being very comfortable. Each time we made a change we did road testing to see what affect it had . Experienced Spyder owners may recognize all of the aftermarket components on this bike. Riders who are new to Spyders may find that they make some of these changes themselves as they get more experience with the bikes. 11,710 miles - purchased new in 2014 at in New Hampshire and maintained by the selling dealer on schedule. They know the bike well and know that my friend was meticulous about maintenance. Last service was at 11,187 miles. Always garaged and in excellent condition. New rear tire (Michelin HydroEdge) at 6904 miles New front tires at 7539 miles Handing improvements: Baja sway bar installed 5/14 at 2874 miles, Elka front shocks installed 8/14 at 7530 miles Upgraded vented windshield Corbin seat with matching passenger backrest Front handbrake control (accessory) Audio system with jack for iPod connection in trunk and accessory Sena bluetooth This is the best handling trike I have ever ridden - very well dialed in. Upgraded parts alone cost about $3610 (plus installation labor). Can Am accessory windshield with adjustable vents: $ 410 Corbin seat and passenger backrest: $1053 Elka front shocks $ 600 Baja Ron Swaybar $ 288 ISCI front brake control $1250 Bike cost over $31,000 new plus $3600 in upgrades means that over $34,000 was invested in this Spyder. NADA average retail $22,429 which, of course, does not include any of the upgrades. Asking $21,000 or best reasonable offer. Please feel free to e-mail me with questions or to set up a time to talk by phone. I’d be happy to show the Spyder to seriously interested and qualified buyers. Contact me to discuss. Not interested in trades. Daughter using sale proceeds for college costs. Please don’t even think about trying to scam me. You’ll just be wasting both of our time. Just don’t bother. Purchase will only be accepted from a buyer who has spoken with me by phone before making an offer to buy. Contact me in advance if you are interested in purchasing but do not have much feedback on E-Bay. $500 deposit due by Paypal with 24 hours and balance due by certified check within seven days. This Spyder is also for sale locally and I reserve the right to end this listing at any time if it sells through another means. I own Northeastern Motorcycle Tours and have been leading motorcycle tours professionally since 1996. If you purchase this Spyder I will, if you want, take you on a free one-day tour of some of the best backroads in Vermont when you pick it up. By the same token, if you want to fly in (or come by train) to pick up the Spyder (assuming your state will allow some sort of registration arrangement) I may be able to meet you at an airport or train station. I’d then be happy to recommend some roads for you to try on your way home. So you could make a whole trip out of this. If you want to trailer it home, I’ll certainly help you load it up. Thanks for reading. |

Motorcycles at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show
Mon, 28 Sep 2009Two weeks ago, I took a break from my regular duties gathering news for Motorcycle.com to fly to Germany to cover the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show for our sister site AutoGuide.com. For two hectic days, AutoGuide editor Colum Wood and I scrambled across the massive 6.2 million square foot Messe Frankfurt trade fair compound, running from press conference to press conference to get the latest on exotic sport cars, futuristic concept models and international unveilings from the automotive world. It was heaven for car lovers, but for me, it meant fighting my way through hordes of photogs, auto-journalists and car show models to get the first photos of four-wheeled goodies from MINI, Ferrari and Lotus.
Can-Am Announces 2015 Spyder F3 and Biketoberfest Contest
Wed, 03 Sep 2014Can-Am/BRP has just taken the (photographic) wraps off the 2015 Can-Am Spyder F3! Although little official information is available, we can take some educated guesses based on what we can see in this photo plus the spy shots we published a couple weeks ago. The new, more aggressive front end prominently features a radiator grill, which we expect will provide the increased cooling required by a beefed up version of the liquid-cooled Rotax 1330 ACE in-line 3 cylinder mill currently powering the Spyder RT tourer.
