Erik Buell Racing Secures $20 Million in Foreign Investments
Fri, 20 Jul 2012Erik Buell Racing has received a $20 million injection from investors. The increased funding is expected to expand the company’s product line and create about 200 jobs. The investment comes through the somewhat fittingly-named “EB-5” program, a product of the Immigrant Act of 1990 designed to encourage investment in American companies by potential immigrants.

Mon, 30 Sep 2013Hero Motocorp has updated its Karizma ZMR and Karizma R for 2014, the first products from the Indian manufacturer developed with Erik Buell Racing. The two companies signed a development deal last February before the relationship deepened with Hero buying 49.2% of EBR a few months later. The fully-faired Karizma ZMR and the partially-faired R version were revealed at an event last week in Macau.

Tue, 18 Feb 2014World Superbike testing at Phillip Island came to a close today, and when the dust settled, reigning champion Tom Sykes stamped his authority, setting the fastest time of the test at 1:30.239, just five thousandths shy of the outright lap record held by Carlos Checa. The time was set during the morning session of testing, though nobody was able to best Sykes for the remainder of the day. Eugene Laverty, who was fastest on day one, showed his pace was no fluke as he stayed near the top of the time sheets, ultimately finishing second behind Sykes, with a best time of 1:30.513.
