BSA Road Rocket description
I have decided to sell my 1954 BSA 650 A10 Road Rocket. This was the first year for the Road Rocket. It was BSA's top model in 1954 pumping out 40 ponies with the help of high compression pistons and a high lift camshaft. It also has the USA only front fender rocket ornament. I bought it with the intention of doing a full ground up restoration. I am too busy with other projects and have recently realized that I will not have the time needed to devote to this bike. This bike was purchased new from Earl J. Martz's cycle shop in McSherrystown, PA in 1954. It hadn't gotten too far away when I found it in a barn just a few miles away. It has been sitting since 1963, 3 years before I was born. I have had it for about 7 years. It still has its last registration tag on the fender, it will stay with the bike. I also have the original owners manual. I am going to let the pictures of this bike speak for themselves. This bike is in need of a full restoration. The engine is stuck from sitting so long. It is the original matching number engine to this bike. I believe the bike is 100% complete and unaltered, most of the bolts have probably never been turned. I have removed the chain and the chain guard so I can more easily push the bike around my shop if needed, I have kept the original bolts for the guard together. The inside of the tank looks better than you would expect with just a little light rust. I am selling this bike AS IS for obvious reasons. If you bring your truck or trailer I will help you load. If you are using a shipper I will make myself available when he arrives. You will have to make all shipping arrangements. Payment will be cash in person. If you are having it shipped I will accept a bank to bank wire transfer. I am available to answer any questions you may have. Please feel free to call. 717-507-2365 John Brucker |

What’s Old Is New Again – Video
Mon, 14 Oct 2013There’s something distinctly cool about old British motorcycles. From the wire wheels, the minimal bodywork, and the exposed engines which give off a thunderous bark, I’ve always loved looking at old Triumphs, BSAs and the like from the 60s. I’ve never owned one though. The reason is simple: old British bikes are needy little maintenance machines notorious for the odd oil leak.
