BSA Lightning description

This is a very nice running old Brit bike. It starts easy and idles great. Shifts real smooth. It needs nothing, ride it home.

All the lights and horn work good. The speedometer reads 23,740, but I doubt the accuracy of any old bike like this. It has been up-dated with electronic ignition and charging system. It's no garage queen, but a presentable every day driver.  It runs like it probably has had a recent rebuild. Very quiet engine with a nice throaty exhaust sound and no oil leaks so far.

I did put new fork seals, oil, and boots on it. Other than that I've just rode it around a little bit. It has a real nice ride, suspension feels good. I would ride this anywhere and feel confident about reliability.

Any shipping will of coarse be the complete responsibility of the buyer. I will work with the shipper as much as possible to get the bike ready for him or her. There is a relatively low reserve on this so bid to win. This is a steal of a deal. If you have any questions, I will try to answer them and if you would like different pictures, please let me know.

On Sep-24-13 at 13:16:46 PDT, seller added the following information:

I'm sorry but the odometer miles jumped to  47,601 just from riding around thwe yard. Apparently there is something very wrong with the odometer, so the miles are unknown. Please disregard the miles listed above. EBay will not let me change it.

If any bidder wants to withdraw their bid, I will understand. Tha speedometer does seem to work fine.

The Fonz Never Really Rode a Motorcycle!

Tue, 02 Jun 2009

According to the “King of Cool” himself, “The Fonz” (Henry Winkler) never actually rode any motorcycles during the ten year Happy Days television run.  Winkler, never rode a bike in real life either, he has dyslexia, which made it difficult for him to co-ordinate the clutch, throttle and brake.  Instead, the bikes (Harley Davidson’s, Triumph’s, BSA’s were used) were mounted on a piece of wood with wheels to make it look like he was riding, even though I am not shocked, I am a little disappointed… You can watch the interview with Winkler, the famous motorcycle jump “The Fonz” made over 14 trashcans and a bonus “Jump the Shark” video after the jump.
