Want a bike that will run right up there with the fastest street bikes and you can still sit on for 8 hrs? Here you go. I've had this bike since 2010
The bike is in good shape overall. The previous owner dropped it in the garage and scratched the tranny cover and handlebar end. It also broke the lower plastic fairing which was repaired and has given me no issues. The tires have about 1K of miles left in them. The bike will likely need a battery at this point as it has been sitting. Last I put a charger on it and it fired right up. It is due for a valve check, spark plugs, and two dealer recall services. This bike does have a mild case of the dreaded second gear issue common to these bikes. If you are looking at one and it has not been repaired, the seller is likely not being honest with you. This one only has symptoms under hard acceleration in second. If you are kind to second gear, I see no reason why you could not continue to ride as is. I personally changed the oil last and cut open the filter, finding no metal chips or excessive wear. THE SADDLE BAGS HAVE BEEN SOLD. Ask questions! Husqvarna Reveals BMW G650GS-Engined Concept Strada
Tue, 29 Nov 2011Husqvarna unveiled a new streetbike model powered by the engine from parent company BMW’s G650GS. The Husqvarna Concept Strada was int4roduced in Paris at the Salon de la Moto show. Though Husqvarna is calling the supermoto-styled Strada a concept, but the new model is near production ready, with Husqvarna expecting to begin sales in 2012, possibly as a 2013 model.
BMW Recalls 4,453 Motorcycles and Scooters for Side Stand Switch Problem
Thu, 13 Mar 2014BMW has initiated a recall on several motorcycle and scooter models because of a problem with the side stand switches failing in wet conditions. The recall affects 4,453 vehicles from the 2013 model year including the C600 Sport and C650GT scooters, F700GS, F800GS, F800GS Adventure, F800GT, R1200R and R1200GS. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, water may enter the side stand switch on affected vehicles from riding in wet conditions or even from vigorous washing.
Larry Pegram To Race EBR 1190RX In 2014 AMA Superbike
Mon, 20 Jan 2014Larry Pegram and Erik Buell Racing will be partnering up in 2014 to race an EBR 1190RX in AMA Superbike. This will be Pegram’s third different OEM in as many years, as he rode a Yamaha last year, BMW before that and Ducati in 2011. Supporting Pegram will be his long-time title sponsor, Foremost Insurance Group, along with EBR sponsors AMSOIL and Hero MotoCorp.
