Garmin GPS Installed Recently completed: Shift Linkage - Changed 2015 New Front and Rear tires summer 2015 - only about 1,000 miles on them; they are good for about 6 - 8,000 miles depending on how you ride and where New Battery - March 2016 New Fuel Cell - March 2016 Tune-up - March 2016 Full Maintenance Check - March 2016 - All looks good - Rear pads at about 50% Known Issues: I've owned the bike for ~4 years and it's been great. I've always serviced it at the same BMW dealership. I recently had the Alarm removed; it was killing the battery because it was dying - this is a common issues with these bikes. Problem is, when it (alarm) dies it immobilizes the bike. You can have the parts in case you ever want to fiddle with it and re-install. There are some scratches, as to be expected, but nothing major. The Mirror for the rear trunk is missing - it was like this when I purchased it - but I am told you can buy these and replace if important. The front windshield is missing a decorative cover piece for the mounting bracket; it flew off when it came back from recent service - but I can new set take off the price. ( approx. $60 USD) The right hand grip developed a couple splits last year - It does not affect heating function, but just wanted you to know. This is the second K1200LT I've owned and it is undoubtedly the most comfortable of all the brakes I've ridden. Heavy but still handles great making it perfect for those long trips. Why am I selling it? I've had two neck surgeries in the past 5 years and no longer feel comfortable or confident riding a motorcycle. Please let me know if I can answer any other questions. Seller reserves the right to end this auction at anytime due to local sale. |

BMW Streamlines WSBK Program, Hands Reins to BMW Italia
Mon, 16 Jul 2012BMW announced it realigning its World Superbike Championship program, with BMW Motorrad Italia taking over as the company’s factory team in 2013. The German manufacturer is currently represented by two teams in the WSBK championship, the BMW Motorrad with Marco Melandri and Leon Haslam and the BMW Motorrad Italia Goldbet team represented by Michel Fabrizio and Ayrton Badovini (there is also a privateer effort of Mark Aitchison riding a BMW S1000RR for the Grillini Progea team.) Next year however, BMW’s Milan-based Italian arm will be responsible for the factory team as well as chassis development and testing. BMW Motorrad itself will focus on developing the power train and electronics.

Spy Video Provides Up-Close Look at 2014 BMW R1200RT/R1200GT
Wed, 17 Apr 2013Last month, we published spy photos of what appeared to be some prototypes of the 2014 BMW R1200RT sport-tourer undergoing testing somewhere in southern France. Unfortunately, the photographs were captured from far away, preventing us from seeing many details apart from the new water-cooled Boxer engine from the new GS and what appears to be the adaptive headlight from the K1600GT and GTL. Thankfully, a new video has surfaced, providing an up-close look at the new R1200RT.
