BMW K-Series description

Great Vintage BMW K75S. The bike has been modified in several ways in order to improve performance. I have retained all stock parts so it will be easy to revert back to stock condition if you would like. I used to be a BMW motorcycle tech. Nearly new Michelin tires with about 500 miles on them. This motorcycle has the amount of wear and tear on it that one would expect from a 26 year old motorcycle that has been ridden, in some cases every day. I lubed the splines in the drive shaft about 1000 miles ago. The transmission was swapped from a bike with around 25,000 miles. It feels brand new! I replaced the clutch disc at that point as well, along with all the little oil seals and doodads. Brand new fuel lines all around.  I rerouted the mass air meter and increased fuel pressure at the regulator and the bike is seriously fast now compared to others of its generation. Non-ABS, which if you are unfamiliar with the early ABS system, is what you want. The windshield has a crack. I added an AIRHORN. EXTRA ECU included ($2400 value). Napoleon mirrors, side and top cases with matching locks to ignition, original tank bag (needs small repair - elastic is worn out). The bike is really quite clean and garage kept.

Motorcycle.com Weekly Community Round-up!

Here are a few things going on around the Motorcycle.com Forum Network: Animated Engines plivez, a new member of the Ducati.ms forums (welcome Plivez!) has a website where he animates motorcycle engines in flash. It’s pretty interesting to see the way a Evo and Twin Cam V twin Harley Davidson engine works. He also has up the crazy BMW flat twin R100 motorcycle engine which seems more complicated then an engine should be!

Firefighting Motorcycle

Fri, 17 Apr 2009

Ever had an officer ask you “where’s the fire?” after being pulled over for speeding?  Well now you have a good excuse. This converted BMW R1200RT has two 20 or 25 liter tanks (contain a premix of water and foam) mounted on either side that is connected to a 6.8 liter compressed air tank on the back of the bike that has a 20 to 30 meter hose. They are currently being used in the U.K.
